Tadapani to Gorapani (Nepal 17)
Last post: Sinuwa to Tadapani (Nepal 16)
I woke up at 6 am in the morning and I could see the amazing sunrise from the balcony of our guesthouse. A peaceful vibe surrounded me and I felt so happy in that moment. To see the sun coming up behind the mighty mountains was incredibly breathtaking.
After the sunrise I had to wait a while until the other two guys woke up and after breakfast we started the last part in direction Poon Hill. From now we knew that we will not be the only trekkers on the trail. Poon Hill and this area are more crowded than the Annapurna Basecamp and the Annapurna Circuit together.
On the first few meters we saw many monkeys in the old rhododendron trees. For the first 2 hours it was an up and down and the sun was burning when we weren´t walking in the forest. But in total it felt more like a day on the beach when I thought about the hard climb to the Annapurna Basecamp.
Close to Gorapani we reached a hill from where we could see the village Gorapani and the Poon Hill right next to the village. We stayed for a while and enjoyed the wonderful view. We were surrounded by the whole Annapurna mountains. One more time a great view here in Nepal.
After a short walk down we reached Gorapani and enjoyed the warm afternoon sun in the garden of our guesthouse.
When you walk on the main street of Gorapani you can see that this place is full of tourists in main season. Many guesthouses, shops and restaurants. Hard to believe that a place like this exists in the mountains.
Our plan is to get up very early the next morning to walk up to Poon Hill to see the sunrise in the Annapurna mountains.
