From Phnom Penh to Saigon (SEA 79)
Last post: Hitchhiking from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh (SEA 78)
Early this morning I took the bus from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City. At the Mocbai-Bavet border everything worked out fine. I´ve organized a Visa in advance and so it wasn´t a problem to enter Vietnam. The city in South Vietnam is the biggest city of the country and better known as Saigon. You can find many parks in the city center where the locals do lots of sports. Everywhere are groups of people doing sports together. When you are in Vietnam you have to search a while to find people with overweight.
I found a new hostel opened its doors three weeks ago. Staying in a dorm felt like staying in a 4-star hotel. Breakfast and 2 free beers in the evening for 8 dollars. This is not the cheapest price and in total I paid less than 4 dollars per night. But this are m last days and so I decided to stay here.
Like always I threw my backpack on my bed and left the hostel to search for some authentic street food. There are many places in Saigon where you can find traditional south Vietnamese street food. I had a super delicious soup and on the evening I went out to have some drinks. For the first time since I´ve been on Koh Lipe. And this is two months ago. I lost the guys from my hostel and so I met three girls from Sheffield and we had lots of beer. At the end it was a long night and I was kind of drunk. One of the girls had to help me finding my hostel.
